Tired of hiding? So are we.

We know that pornography, masturbation, and other sexual addictions aren't just a "guy problem." The need for women to be accompanied in the journey towards healing from addiction has gone sorely unmet, and that’s why we’re here.

Magdala exists as a space where women can find hope, healing, and freedom alongside each other from sexual addiction. Our goal is to supply you with support, community, and accountability.

Our virtual groups are available to women ages 18 and up all over the globe, and we partner with college campuses and parishes to help facilitate groups in person. Whether it’s virtual, in-person, or through our blog and podcast content, we want to offer every woman the chance not just to recover, but to heal.

Wherever you are in your journey, we welcome you to the conversation.

Statement of belief

With firm faith, Magdala Ministries professes belief in everything contained in the word of God, whether written or handed down in Tradition, which the Church, either by a solemn judgment or by the ordinary and universal Magisterium, sets forth to be believed as divinely revealed. We also firmly accept and hold each and everything definitively proposed by the Church regarding teaching on faith and morals.

Our organization’s resources are rooted in the Catholic tradition of sexual ethics, the first and foremost being the truth that “chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person and thus the inner unity of man in his bodily and spiritual being” (Catechism of the Catholic Church #2337). This call to sexual integration means we reject both the tenets of secular culture that permit or encourage sexual behavior and mindsets that tragically contradict the dignity of the human person; so also does the call to integration lead us to reject the principles of purity culture that posit a morality based on fear and shame rather than redemption.

The Catechism also states that “Chastity includes an apprenticeship in self-mastery which is a training in human freedom. The alternative is clear: either man governs his passions and finds peace, or he lets himself be dominated by them and becomes unhappy” (CCC #2339). The journey of “apprenticeship in self-mastery” is not prescriptive or pre-set; it is determined by the unique story and needs of each individual who undertakes it. Our mission is to accompany women in their unique apprenticeship on the road to virtue, proclaiming the Gospel truth that no person who seeks Christ is without dignity or hope.

Magdala Ministries is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the pastoral care of women seeking healing from sexual addiction and unwanted sexual behavior. We are not a clinical resource, nor are any of our staff licensed mental health clinicians. We are not a substitute for clinical or rehabilitative addiction treatment. Our curriculum and resources are carefully reviewed by psychologists, clergy, and other experts to verify their safety for women’s mental and spiritual health.
